Still 'room for improvement' in attitudes to discrimination

While attitudes towards workplace diversity are changing, there could still be times when workers find they need help from an employment discrimination claim solicitor.
According to Change to Succeed, an organisation specialising in women's professional and personal development, there is still "vast room" for improvement with discrimination.
Piya Khanna, founder of the organisation, says "discrimination definitely still persists", though there many employers investing in gender and diversity initiatives.
"There is still a massive earnings gap between men and women in the UK," she argues, citing the recent Equality and Human Rights Commission Triennial review.
However, Ms Khanna notes that this is "not surprising" as it can be put down to types of roles occupied by the different sexes.
She explains that 59 per cent of men overall work full time, while only 39 per cent of women have full time jobs.
Head of policy and campaigns at the Fawcett Society Anna Bird recently claimed that progress on making pay fairer is "stalling" and demanded "urgent action" to address why women earn a sixth less than men.
