Commercial property satisfaction increases

Occupiers of commercial properties are increasingly satisfied with their tenancy conditions, the latest Occupier Satisfaction Survey by the Property Industry Alliance has found.
The overall satisfaction score of 5.4 out of ten represents an improvement over last year's result of 4.9, meaning fewer people may have recourse to use a commercial property solicitor.
Meanwhile, as in previous surveys there was an ongoing disparity between the sentiments of large and small occupiers, although this was less pronounced in 2011.
Sustainability remained a big issue for many occupiers, and the survey suggested that landlords still have much to do before they are meeting their responsibilities.
Finally, satisfaction with landlords' service charge arrangements showed no change this year, remaining at 4.3.
Recently, the Gas Safe Register advised all landlords to make sure they are up to date on their gas appliance checks, after research revealed that almost half of Britain's homes do not have the annual inspections.
