Family seeks clues that death was linked to asbestos

The family of a carpenter in Coventry may be seeking the services of an asbestosis lawyer after saying they believe he may have died from exposure to the substance at work.
Raymond Mansfield Smith was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2009 and died two months later after spending his life working for British Rail, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
"He only started to slow down a couple of years before his death," Lyn Abbey, Mr Smith's daughter, told the newspaper.
"When Dad was diagnosed with asbestos related mesothelioma it came as a huge shock to the family."
The family is now asking his former colleagues to come forward to see if they can provide any information on how Mr Smith could have been exposed to asbestos during his work.
Recently, the Chester Chronicle reported that a former construction worker from Chester died more than 50 years after he was exposed to asbestos fibres.
