Fewer accidents occur on Scottish roads

Accident at work solicitor services may witness a slight drop in Scottish compensation claims, after new figures show a decline in local accidents.
According to the Key Scottish Safety Camera Programme Statistics 2010 report, the average number of people killed or seriously injured at safety camera sites between 2008 and 2010 is 63 per cent lower than the three-year baseline averages reported since the programme began.
The report also reveals that the number of people killed or seriously injured on all of Scotland's roads between 2008 and 2010 is 44 per cent lower than the average between 1997 and 1999.
Kathleen Braidwood, road safety officer at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, said: "With an average of ten fewer accidents involving injuries every week at safety camera sites, it is clear that cameras are helping to reduce the misery caused by crashes across Scotland."
Insurance firm AXA recently called for industry regulations to be made more robust in order to prevent fraudulent personal injury claims.
