Referee chief settles unfair dismissal case regarding Pope email

Referees' chief Hugh Dallas has settled his unfair dismissal case against the Scottish Football Association (SFA) out of court, having been sacked for sending an email about the Pope.
The 53-year-old forwarded a message that contained a graphic of the 'Children Crossing' road sign.
While this usually depicts an adult and child holding hands, the sign had been altered with the message "Caution - the Pope is coming", in reference to the alleged sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church.
Mr Dallas, who refereed at the 1998 and 2002 Fifa World Cups, had been intending to take the SFA to an employment tribunal this week, contesting his sacking with unfair dismissal compensation claim advice.
The SFA had reportedly fired him for sending the email from his SFA account, which was in contravention of the organisation's IT policy.
Four other SFA staff members were sacked during proceedings, although they were later reinstated with no further punishment.
