Boardroom quotas for women 'should be considered'

Introducing quotas could mean fewer women need to seek an employment discrimination claim solicitor.
According to the Fawcett Society, more women could reach the highest echelons of their organisations if quotas were introduced.
Preethi Sundaram, policy and campaigns officer at the group, warned that "business as usual isn't working".
She explained that the most recent report looking into the issue stopped short of recommending quotas.
"This might not be the popular choice, but all the evidence shows it is the only sure fire way to ensure more women reach the boardroom," Ms Sundaram.
More awareness is needed about inequality, she stressed, adding that "the government has made it clear [that] they don't intend to force big business to take action on the issue".
Her comments come after a survey revealed that the majority of women believe they are disadvantaged in the workplace.
Sixty-one per cent believe men are better at getting pay rises than females, while 78 per cent stated that being attractive helps them to get on better at work, according to the poll from Marie Claire and Everywoman.
