Residential property conveyancing records boost as sellers return

Residential property conveyancing is on the up again as sellers return to the market, new figures indicate.
According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics), there was a rise in the supply of housing in April.
Its Housing Market Survey reveals 18 per cent more of its members reported a rise rather than a fall in new instructions from sellers, up four per cent from March.
Chartered surveyors report that a stabilisation in property prices may have tempted people back to the market.
Demand also showed signs of improvement following a series of negative months, Rics said.
Commenting on the figures, Rics housing spokesperson Michael Newey said: "The return of sellers to the market is positive, but activity still remains subdued and it is difficult to see it picking up materially over the coming months."
He explained that there is a "long way to go" before any relaxation of lending criteria leads to more sales.
"Economic uncertainty may also continue to weigh on sentiment for a while to come," he added.
It comes after the Land Registry reported a 1.1 per cent fall in average house prices between February and March.
