BSC launches workplace safety campaign

Things that can lead to a workplace accident compensation claim are the subject of a campaign from the British Safety Council (BSC) which closes this Friday (April 15th).
Called "Changing the habits of a lifetime", the scheme seeks to understand the key health and safety issues affecting workers.
It is aimed at businesses and how they can change practices to ensure their staff are protected from injury.
"Most simply, we want to be able to make an impact and decrease the number of preventable accidents in the workplace due to health and safety misnomers," the BSC said.
The organisation stressed that preventing a personal injury claim through safe working habits is the responsibility of everyone in a company, from new recruits to the chief executive.
It comes at a time of great change to workplace health and safety laws, as the government seeks to overhaul the current system in light of budget constraints.
Among the key measures, ministers want to reduce the number of inspections by a third.
