New mediation services centre for divorcing couples opens

Divorcing couples will be able to work through their break-up more easily thanks to opening of a new mediation services centre in Kent.
Couples looking for advice on family law, mediation and relationships will find the newly-launched Kent Family Mediation Service will be at their disposal.
The new centre was launched by justice minister Jonathon Djanogly, who took the opportunity to highlight how useful mediation services can be.
It comes after the Ministry of Justice outlined plans to make it compulsory for couples considering separation to go through mediation.
Mr Djanogly commented: "Mediation can be a quicker, cheaper and much less stressful alternative. Whether it's who gets what, or even child custody and care, mediation can help ex-couples to draw up their areas of disagreement and find workable solutions."
He explained that mediation allows ex-partners to work out exactly what works best for both of them, as well as for any children involved.
