Abramovich set for High Court battle

In one of the biggest commercial dispute resolution cases to hit the UK, two of the world's richest men are set to battle it out in the High Court later this year.
Chelsea Football Club manager Roman Abramovich will meet fellow Russian oligarch and former business partner Boris Berezovsky in court after the former lost his appeal to have a £2 billion damages claim struck.
Mr Abramovich had asked the Court of Appeal to overturn a High Court ruling that did not strike the action.
However, the three appeal judges agreed that the claim should go ahead – leaving the stage set for a major commercial dispute resolution battle.
Mr Berezovsky alleges that the multi-billionaire Chelsea owner used threats to force him to sell his shares in oil firm Sibneft and aluminium producer Rusal at a fraction of their true value.
Among the alleged threats was one that Mr Berezovsky's shares in the companies would be expropriated by the Kremlin if he failed to sell.
Mr Berezovsky fled to the UK in 2000, and has since been granted political asylum in the country after Russian requests for extradition.
