House of Lords debates divorce law

The House of Lords has debated divorce law ahead of potential alterations that may affect private clients who are facing divorce.
Baroness Ruth Deech tabled the discussions, which concerned prenuptial contracts and other policies that may affect family law.
It was argued that the government should consider European divorce systems, where instances of prenuptial agreements are far more frequent.
Baroness Deech said: "There is enormous public anger, especially among those who have been involved in divorce. They find this state of affairs unjust and immoral."
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has ruled in favour of a German heiress, who was protecting her income of over £100 million from her ex-husband.
Forty-year-old Katrin Radmacher was allowed to keep her savings from being shared with Nicolas Granatino due to the couple previously signing an agreement which prevented either person from gaining a financial advantage from any future divorce.
Ms Radmacher said: "I'm delighted that Britain has upheld fairness."
