Liverpool court case continues

The attempted dispute resolution between Liverpool FC chairman Martin Broughton and the club's owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett has returned to London's high court today, after the two owners placed a restraining order that has stalled any prospective sale.
Mr Broughton is attempting to sell the club to American investors New England Sports Ventures, but Hicks and Gillett believe that his asking price of £300 million undervalues the club and have issued a restraining order from a Texas court.
In addition, Hicks and Gillett are attempting to claim damages of more than £1 billion against Liverpool's club directors, its creditor the Royal Bank of Scotland and potential American buyer New England Sports Ventures.
Last week, New England Sports Ventures issued a statement that announced its aims for the club.
The statement revealed that the company's objectives are to "stabilise the club" and "create a long-term financially solid foundation for Liverpool FC".
