Worker to seek personal injury claim

A science worker who was badly burned following an explosion is to sue his employers over personal injury.
According to the Cambridge News, 34-year-old Adam Segrave spent 12 days in hospital following the blast at Cambridge Science Park, which knocked him off his stepladder and caused 14 per cent burns to his body.
The employee now has scarring on his arms and face, hair loss and impaired hearing thanks to the incident and is looking for £150,000 in compensation from Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
It is believed that Mr Segrave was helping to install air conditioning when one colleague used oxygen instead of nitrogen to flush existing pipes out, which led to the explosion.
A Croydon-based company was recently fined £28,500 by the Health and Safety Executive and ordered to pay £9,359 in costs following a personal injury claim from a 17-year-old worker who fell through a roof light just weeks into his job. Posted by James Walsh
