Students 'should pick appropriate insurance cover'

Those who are preparing to kick-start their higher education adventure might want to follow an expert's advice and choose an insurance policy that is tailored specifically to their needs.
According to a spokesperson from the Association of British Insurers, there are a number of reasons why learners might wish to take out the right cover plan.
He noted that students take iPods, laptops and sometimes expensive clothing to university, which has a high value when calculated together.
"The key thing is to always make sure that you choose cover that is most appropriate to your needs," the representative said.
For instance, those who choose to live in a flat might require a different policy to those who live in a shared house or halls of residence.
Recently, Endsleigh calculated that students will typically take just under £4,000 worth of items to university, with a third of these possessions carried around campus.
