Financial pressures intensifying for parents, study suggests

Many mums and dads are coming under increasing financial pressure when it comes to paying for aspects of their adult children's future.
Research from Aviva has indicated that 18 per cent of parents set to retire anticipate that their offspring will require monetary help.
In comparison, a higher figure - 30 per cent - of children claimed they expect to receive such support.
Specifically, the statistics revealed that 62 per cent of parents believe they will be required to stump up cash towards a deposit on a home, while 50 per cent of this group are worried, concerned or angry at having to provide such assistance.
In response to the figures, Clive Bolton, a director for Aviva, stated: "The financial landscape and the pressures on the modern family have massively changed over the last decade."
The remarks follow those made by Phil Flaxton, chief executive officer of Work Wise UK, who said would-be buyers "are now having to save so much money that of course they are being forced to stay at home with mum and dad".
