Cardiff building sites shut down by HSE

Health and safety inspectors have cracked down on four building sites in Cardiff following a string of workplace breaches.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) released pictures to the South Wales Echo which showed construction workers putting their lives at risk by undertaking dangerous home improvement upgrades.
In news that might have caught the attention of anyone seeking a solicitor's advice for personal injury matters, the photographs revealed men carrying out tasks on roofs without hard hats.
Another breach came in the form of a lack of scaffolding, further putting individuals' lives at risk.
Liam Osborne, HSE inspector for Cathays, Roath, Canton and Cardiff city centre, was quoted in the publication as stating: "When we inspect sites that are clearly dangerous to the workers and members of the public, we will not hesitate to take enforcement action to protect lives and livelihoods."
Recently, the authority prosecuted the Solihull building firm Greswolde Construction for failing to warn employees about the presence of asbestos.
