Teenage house parties 'not without their risks'

News that a high number of under-18s have seen valuables lost or stolen at a house party might catch the attention of those looking for an insurance plan.
Post Office Home Insurance revealed that 27 per cent of those hosting a knees-up have had items broken, while a further eight per cent have been victims of theft.
In total, 35 per cent of this age group has arranged a bash for their friends in their parents' house, with 11 per cent failing to obtain permission.
The organisation also revealed that social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter make it easier for teenagers to find out about events and gatecrash them.
Items such as laptops, mobile phones and cash should be kept in a safe place.
Gerry Barrett, head of the Post Office Home Insurance, stated: "A-level and GCSE students will understandably want to celebrate to mark their exam results this summer, so the best way for parents to relax is to make sure they are prepared."
