Asbestos causes closure of Exeter building

Those looking to get the best legal advice with regards to an asbestos compensation claim might have noted news that an educational facility in Exeter has been closed due to an unwanted discovery.
Asbestos was found at the building - a playgroup - as reported by BBC News.
Following the finding, Devon County Council was told by inspectors that the problem could pose future issues if the site's condition gets worse.
Responding to the news, the council was quoted as stating: "Our prime consideration when managing premises is the health and safety of people, particularly vulnerable groups."
The case may highlight the need for organisations of all kinds to ensure their premises are fit for purpose.
Elsewhere, a recent piece by Andrew Penman in the Mirror summarised the view that many schools are not doing enough to prevent asbestos risks.
"It is vital to know where asbestos is and have plans in place to deal with it," he wrote.
