Rural areas could see real estate expansion

It could be said that rural areas could increasingly accommodate ambitious property developments, if an expert's comments are anything to go by.
Steve Briggs, planner and partner at the Taunton office of Smiths Gore, suggested that the Community Right To Build scheme could make it easier for local people to have more of a say over their area's requirements.
He said the plans should make it easier for properties to be constructed "as local authorities will be freed from the previous constraints imposed by statistics and policies at a regional and national level".
The remarks may have caught the attention of businesses and individuals looking to base themselves in property in these parts of the country.
Mr Briggs indicated that a neighbourhood-based approach could "go some way to regenerating the local rural community".
As part of the policy, individuals will be able to determine the quantity, type and design of developments earmarked for their neighbourhood.
