CBRE: Commercial property volumes have increased

Those with an interest in UK commercial property might have noted news that central London investment volumes went up during the second quarter of 2010.
This is according to CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), which reported strong levels of investor demand following an increase in stock.
During this period, turnover in this area reached £1.9 billion after a 57 per cent rise.
Commenting on the figures, Mike Edwards, head of City investment at CBRE, stated: "With investor demand still strong, investment volumes are expected to remain high."
He went on to add: "Overseas buyers remain very active in the market and accounted for 62 per cent of total investment volume."
One of the biggest deals in the second quarter of this year was when Knightsbridge Estate was sold by Avestus Capital Partners to the Olayan Group for £600 million.
In addition, Ed Stansfield, property economist at Capital Economics, suggested that the UK real estate has not become overvalued and has shown some strength in overcoming the credit crisis.
