Law Society appoints new chief assessors

Those in the process of finding a dispute resolution might be aware that the Law Society has started to update and review its professional accreditation schemes.
In doing so, it has appointed three chief assessors to deal with matters relating to children, family and mental health.
Christina Blacklaws will lead the law panel for child care, while Stuart Barlow will be tasked with family issues and Robert Robinson is set to deliver in the area of mental incapacity.
Responding to the news, Linda Lee, president of the Law Society, stated that the assessors will be needed to showcase their expertise "to the public courts, statutory bodies and, most importantly, to members of the public".
Meanwhile, a piece by Neil Faulkner in MSN Money UK highlighted the need for a sensible approach with regards to alleviating the stigma associated with bankruptcy.
He suggested that such financial troubles can have a severe impact on people's personal lives.
