'Growing scientific evidence' about asbestos health risks

UK citizens looking to make an asbestos compensation claim may be fascinated by details of one report into the discredited material.
The BBC's Steve Bradshaw and Jim Morris have conducted research into the substance and observed there is growing evidence to suggest it carries new health risks.
According to the article, "the scientific case against white asbestos may be hardening".
It cited the opinion of John Hodgson, a member of the UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE), who claimed previous predictions of mesothelioma risk might need to be revised upwards.
He is quoted by the news provider as stating: "I would say that we can't say it's safe."
The report noted that although white asbestos is banned or restricted in more than 50 countries, it is still used in places such as China, India and Russia.
According to the HSE, such fibres can lead to diseases that cause the death of about 4,000 people in the UK per year.
