UK employment conditions 'are improving'

With the Office for National Statistics revealing that the UK unemployment rate has fallen, one organisation has claimed that although the figures show the economy is improving, there is a need for jobs growth to accelerate.
Duncan Higgins, senior analyst at Caxton FX, responded to news that 20,800 fewer people claimed unemployment benefit in June when compared with the previous month.
He said: "Today's numbers reaffirm the improving conditions in the UK economy."
However, Mr Higgins went on to add: "These unemployment figures represent pre-spending cut data and the real test will be to see how the labour market holds up over the coming months."
The expert also noted that the pound has recorded a strong performance in relation to the dollar, which he put down to market sentiment.
Meanwhile, Citizens Advice recently released a report which suggested that those going through bankruptcy should be given access to a basic bank account.
