Transparent environmental levies 'would benefit homeowners'

Those affected by matters of personal insolvency might wish to see a more transparent approach to taxation with regards to environmental levies on energy bills.
Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, responded to news that the Fuel Poverty Advisory Group has issued a warning about the amount of charges being handed to homeowners.
She said: "If consumers are to be expected to meet these costs then there has to be clarity over what these hidden taxes are for."
Ms Robinson added that there should be a cap on the amount consumers pay for such charges.
The expert's organisation also cited figures from Ernst & Young which claimed that the UK's investment in energy supplies will amount to more than £230 billion - putting £548 on typical household bills over the next 15 years.
Meanwhile, the Office of Fair Trading recently published new consumer rights guidelines which could be used for those looking to contact a professional negligence solicitor service.
