OFT publishes consumer rights information

New consumer rights guidelines published by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) could give individuals an insight into their legal position when contacting a professional negligence solicitor service.

The organisation has provided details of an independent evaluation into its Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS), which instructed the OFT on how its can enhance its relationships with industry bodies.

Cavendish Elithorn, senior director of policy at group, commented: "Following this report, the OFT will use these findings to help ensure their CCAS codes continue to improve and provide good levels of consumer protection."

The CCAS drive is intended to allow trade associations and related groups to have a better idea of how to implement complaint procedures, pre-contractual information and information about deposits taken.

This follows news from ComRes, which conducted a survey that showed about 146,948 UK citizens will be made insolvent in England and Wales in 2010.

Compared with last year, the figures represent a rise of ten per cent.ADNFCR-1678-ID-19880841-ADNFCR
