Union chief responds to pension plans

When searching for a reliable employment law solicitor service, the remarks of one union representative may help inform a decision.
Brendan Barber, general secretary of the Trade Union Congress, responded to news of the Public Sector Pensions Commission report launched at the Institute for Directors.
He stated: "Britain's real pensions scandal is the retreat by employers from providing pensions."
Mr Barber added: "This report is from people who simply want to reduce taxes for business and the super-rich."
The figure asserted that although changes to such policy are desirable from time to time, the findings released today do not put directors' pensions under the same level of scrutiny.
Elsewhere, in response to the release of the report, Mark Littlewood, director general of the Institute of Economic Affairs, claimed that it underlines the need for greater transparency in public sector pensions.
He added that successive governments have avoided tackling the issue for too long.
