Oil refinery workers sent home due to asbestos risk

When looking for an asbestos compensation claim, the story of workers in one part of Lincolnshire may provide food for thought.
Hundreds of employees at the Lindsey Oil Refinery - where a man was recently killed in an explosion - have been instructed that they cannot return to their roles until next week.
This is because asbestos has been discovered by teams investigating the incident, with the problem discovered in the HDS-3 processing unit.
Paul Whitehurst of the GMB union stated: "GMB members were today told to stay at home and it is likely to be the end of this week or early next week before work resumes on the HDS-3 site."
Last Tuesday (June 29th), the explosion took the life of Robert Greenacre, 24, who was working near the scene of the blast.
Recently, the British Lung Foundation advised that homeowners should be more aware of the dangers posed by asbestos.
