BA talks with Acas collapse without agreement

Talks between the conciliation service Acas and British Airways (BA) concerning a dispute with cabin crew have collapsed without an agreement being reached.
The failed mediation could result in further strike action being taken by staff at the firm.
According to the service, it was unable to break the deadlock.
It remarked: "At present there are no further meetings planned but Acas will monitor developments and our services remain available."
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Unite union said it remains committed to reaching a settlement with BA that addresses the concerns of its members.
It added that it is still in touch with Acas and the flight operator for this purpose.
So far, crew members have staged 22 days of strikes this year.
As well as the industrial action taken by employees, BA has been hit over recent weeks by the disruption caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland that resulted in airspace being closed.
