Commercial property market 'has turned a corner'

The demand for commercial property in the UK is increasing, it has been suggested.
According to Great Portland Estates, the market has turned a corner since the low points seen during the recession.
The organisation claimed it has witnessed a rise in the value of its nets assets per share to 283p, citing improvements in interest concerning property in the capital as one reason.
Chief executive Toby Courtauld remarked: "London's property investment recovery gathered pace over the past six months, supported by the significant volume of capital competing for a limited number of assets."
He added that for the rise in capital values to continue long-term, further increases in rental values is important.
Great Portland Estates expects selective growth in such figures over the second half of this year, Mr Courtauld went on to note.
Earlier this month, Robin Martin, head of research for Legal & General Property, suggested that the best strategy for commercial property investors this year is to take risks, the FT Adviser reported.
