England rugby players seek to use mediation

The England rugby team are seeking to use mediation in a pay dispute, it has emerged.
According to a report in the Mirror, representatives of the players are taking the action in a last-ditch attempt to improve the terms of their remuneration packages.
They have been involved in disagreements with the Rugby Football Union over the issue.
The organisation - which is the national governing body for the sport in England and employs around 500 people, with up to 40,000 volunteers also taking part - wants to pay some players more than others.
However, the team wish to receive a flat fee, as they have on all recent international tours.
It is hoped that the formal talks will lead to some form of agreement between the two parties.
Recently, mediation was attempted in the case of British Airways workers, as unions and bosses at the firm sought to avert strikes by reaching an accord.
Rick Munro, dispute resolution partner at Lamport Bassitt and founding member of the Solent Mediation Group, said: "Mediation brings with it many advantages over litigation through the court including speed, cost and flexibility."
