Young couples 'delaying marriage due to price of homes'

The marriage rate in Britain may be slowing due to the country's economic problems, new research suggests.
According to a survey commissioned by the Housing Federation, young couples are being deterred from tying the knot because they cannot afford to buy homes.
Seven per cent of people polled revealed they had delaying getting hitched because they were unable to purchase real estate.
Meanwhile, four in ten said they would put off marriage until they were able to buy a house and more than half said they would need help from their parents in order to wed their partner and enter the property market.
Responding to the figures, David Orr, chief executive of the federation - which claims to represent 1,200 independent, non-profit housing associations in England - said: "Young people are giving up hope of ever being able to afford their own home and who can blame them? House prices have rocketed well out of reach of most young people."
