Those at risk of insolvency 'increasingly seeking help online'

The number of people in debt problems and possibly at risk of insolvency who are seeking help online has increased.
This is according to the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS), which suggested that more than 150,000 individuals sought assistance via its Debt Remedy counselling tool last year.
Compared with the previous 12-month period, this represents a rise of almost two-thirds and the organisation expects there to be a further jump this year.
The charity, which aims to aid those who are struggling with their finances by providing free, impartial and realistic advice, suggested that the availability of the service is one reason for its popularity.
Commenting on the issue of debt problems, head of e-services at the CCCS Paula Searle said it is vital people get assistance as soon as they realise they are in difficulties.
She added: "Unfortunately, too many people don't seek help quickly enough as they are held back because they feel ashamed of their situation."
