Tenants with grievances 'should consider mediation'

Tenants who have a grievance with their landlords should consider mediation as a way of resolving the problem.
This is according to a Directgov article, which suggested that if people receive service charge bills that they believe are too high, they should first write to their landlords or letting agents raising their concerns.
Correspondence should include the reasons why consumers think they are being asked for too much money, it is suggested.
If this does not work, people should consider the route of mediation, according to the government's digital service - which serves consumers in England and Wales and provides information and advice about public services.
The article added: "If, however, the landlord won't go to mediation, then you can ask the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal to decide how much of the charge is payable."
Directgov notes that service charge bills can often add up to four figures, meaning it is important for individuals to check their accuracy.
