Female employees 'still face discrimination'

Women in workplaces around the world still face discrimination, according to one expert.
Steve Williams, head of equality at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service, suggested that there is no getting away from the fact that such unfair treatment remains an issue in many quarters.
He stated: "You still find some occupations disproportionately populated by one gender or the other."
However, progress is being made and the fact that the gender pay gap is recognised is an important part of the process in terms of tackling inequality among staff members around the globe, he added.
Mr Williams made his comments following the release of a report by the World Economic Forum this month.
In it, the organisation claimed that the corporate world is failing to take sufficient measures to combat gender inequality.
It went on to suggest that the notion that most companies have become gender balanced or female-friendly is a myth.
