HMRC issues tax reminder

A reminder has been issued by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) concerning deadlines for tax collection.
The organisation - which is responsible for collecting and administering all direct and indirect taxes in the UK - said there is one month to go before the cut-off point for reclaiming change for 2004-05.
Those with self-assessment claims for this 12-month period need to hand in their documentation by the end of March, it noted.
In addition, people seeking to recoup money from 2005-06 should make sure they file their submission by April 5th, the government body said.
Its deputy director of intermediaries and external communication Brian Redford remarked: "There is only one month to go before there are new deadlines for re-claiming tax - with the time limits for claiming tax back changing from six to four years."
He added that HMRC does not want to see individuals missing out on any money they are entitled to.
