Chinese investors 'increasingly entering UK commercial property market'

Real estate investors from China are increasingly seeking to enter the UK's commercial property market, it has been claimed.
According to property consultancy King Sturge, such people are putting money into British firms and embarking on new ventures in the country.
The organisation's senior research associate Deborah Hayward commented: "An increasing number of Chinese investors and occupiers have firmly set their sights on the City and Chinese occupiers and investors are now starting to represent potentially the biggest opportunity for the City office market."
According to King Sturge, the needs for Chinese investors to diversify their commodity and production wealth has combined with lower rents and property values in Britain to encourage them to invest in commercial property.
Recently, Paul Arenson, managing director of Stenham Property, said that commercial property in the UK currently represents a good investment and high-quality premises are not in danger of being overvalued, Citywire.co.uk reported.
