Union expresses fear over Cadbury-Kraft deal

A union has expressed concern that the takeover of Cadbury by US firm Kraft will lead to considerable job losses in the UK.
According to Jack Dromey, deputy general secretary of Unite, the deal may not be in Britain's national interest.
He added: "In the months of this hostile takeover process we have heard nothing from Kraft to calm fears that it is in the interest of the Cadbury workforce."
Mr Dromey pointed to the takeover of Terry's of York by Kraft, which saw the UK plant close.
He went on to suggest that it is vital that leaders "seize the opportunity" to ensure that Cadbury and its staff members do not suffer the same fate.
Shortly before the deal was formally completed last night, workers from Bournville and a group of MPs from the Midlands gathered outside the Houses of Parliament to register their concerns over the firm's takeover.
