Cadbury employees stage protest over job cuts

Workers at the Cadbury factory in Bournville staged a protest yesterday morning over possible job cuts which may occur once the takeover deal with US firm Kraft takes place.
Unite officials were among those gathered on Bournville Green to show their opposition to the move and placards with the phrase "don't sell us out" were being waved.
The union says that Kraft must give assurances that the interests of the workforce will not be overlooked and that the quality of the products must be safeguarded.
Unite national officer Jennie Formby said: "Our members and their friends across the Midlands deserve a voice in this takeover.
"They are angry that, to date, they have been forced to look on from the sidelines."
Kraft has until early next month to persuade Cadbury shareholders to back its cash and shares offer after Ferror, along with the US Hershey group, pulled out of possible deals.
