Businesses 'more positive than insolvency experts'

Firms are more positive about their outlook this quarter than insolvency experts, it has been found.
According to R3, while 39 cent of enterprises polled feel that the next three months will be good, only eight per cent of insolvency practitioners held the same belief.
President of the organisation Peter Sargent remarked: "[Such] practitioners know that creditors tend to act more aggressively as we come out of a recession and corporate insolvencies continue to rise."
He added that the early stages of an economic recovery can be a dangerous time for companies.
R3's statistics showed that business confidence is at 44 per cent in the south of the country, compared with 37 per cent in the north.
Recently, Matthew Fell, director of corporate affairs at the Confederation of British Industry, suggested that the threat of higher taxes on businesses and individuals will have a negative impact on firms and may result in more insolvencies.
