Workers 'risk driving uninsured'

Many people may be putting their insurance at risk of being invalidated if they use their own car for business purposes, it has been claimed.
According to insurance comparison site Gocompare.com, 72 per cent of employees in the UK have used their vehicles in this way.
More than three in ten (35 per cent) do not have business cover on their policies.
If the car is not insured for work mileage, cover providers may refuse to pick up the bill for any claims made for damage.
Business development director of Gocompare.com Lee Griffin stated: "Employers have a legal responsibility to ensure that, irrespective of its owner, vehicles used on company business are safe to use - this includes being fully insured for business usage."
He added that companies should not assume that staff members with private car insurance are covered for driving their vehicle while at work.
Recently, M&S Home Insurance revealed that there was a surge in claims made by homeowners for water damage caused by pipes bursting during the freezing weather.
